Materials and Tools:

small clear glass pieces
Walnut Hollow oil colored pencils #9912
Walnut Hollow Creative Versa-Tool #23906
7/32" wide copper foil tape
black and white photo or copy
Artistic Wire 20-gauge silver wire
stringing wire or beading thread
Bead Heaven glass bead mix
Wrights 1/2" sheer ribbon
masking tape
moist sponge
pencil
pliers
scissors
wire cutter

Steps:

1. Color the image using oil colored pencils.

2. Cut the image to fit the glass using scissors.

3. Clean glass pieces with soap and water. Dry thoroughly, taking care to keep visible lint off the glass. Sandwich the picture between two pieces of glass.

4. Remove a small section of adhesive backing from the copper foil. With adhesive side up, place outer glass edge in center of copper foil strip. Carefully fold copper foil around glass edge.

5. With the side of a wooden pencil, burnish the edges of the copper foiling to smooth. Repeat for all pieces.

6. Use masking tape to secure the Versa-Tool stand to the work table. Read package directions for proper use and safety before beginning. Using pliers, attach the soldering point to the Versa-Tool and plug into electric outlet to heat.

7. When hot, apply solder to end of soldering point. This is called tinning; it helps the solder adhere to the surface.

8. Using solder and soldering point, touch both to all copper foil connections to melt and apply a thin coating of solder. As the solder melts, move it slowly across the foil tape. Repeat process for front, back and sides, until copper foil is covered. Pull solder point across a moist sponge often to clean solder point.

9. Using wire cutters, cut 1/2 inch silver craft wire. Bend into "U" shape. Using pliers to hold wire U at top of the jewelry pieces, melt solder to attach.

10. Using scissors, cut 36 inches of waxed beading thread. Pull thread through silver wire loop to half way. Thread random colors and shapes of beads on each side to desired length. Ours is 18 inches on both sides.

11. Tie a square knot twice at the end. Attach a small bow at the silver loop. Wrap 36 inches of sheer 1/4-inch ribbon around the beads. Tie in a knot in back.
